How we work

Three parts, in that order.

Relief first, because pain makes everything else impossible. Then the correction, because relief alone does not last. Then the strength to hold it, because that is what stops you coming back next year with the same complaint.

Chiropractic Care

We examine before we treat. That means a history, an orthopaedic and neurological exam, and imaging where it is warranted. If an adjustment is the right tool you will understand why before it happens, and if it is not the right tool we will say so.

Adjustments are specific rather than routine. We treat the segment that is restricted, not the whole spine on a schedule.

What that rules out

Some of what walks into a practice like this is not a chiropractic problem. Referred pain from an organ, a fracture, an inflammatory condition, or a nerve problem that needs imaging and a surgeon.

The examination exists to catch those. When we find one we refer you out the same day and tell you exactly who to see.

Movement Rehabilitation

A screen that watches you squat, hinge, step, reach and rotate, and shows where the load is going somewhere it should not. Most recurring back pain is a hip or an ankle that stopped doing its share years ago.

From there you get progressive work, three or four movements at a time, reassessed every two weeks. It is not a printout of generic stretches.

Performance Coaching

For patients who are out of pain and want capacity: strength, conditioning, and sleep, coached over a defined block with numbers at the start and the end.

This runs in blocks of eight or twelve weeks. It has an end, and at the end you either continue by choice or you leave with a program you can run yourself.

Ninety minutes, then a written plan.

The first visit is long on purpose. Everything after it is thirty minutes unless something changes.

01

History and exam

What happened, when it started, what makes it worse, and what you have already tried. Then the physical examination and any imaging that is warranted.

02

Movement screen

A structured look at how you move under load, so the treatment addresses the reason rather than the site of the pain.

03

Findings and plan

What we found, what we think is causing it, how many visits it should take, and what we will do if it does not respond. In writing, before you leave.

Book the first ninety minutes.

New patients are usually seen within 48 hours, and the call is answered whatever time you make it.
